Miami Skylines at Night Photos
I got in to Miami around 2:30 a.m. from Ocala. The skies were clear, no breeze, and beautiful full moon. I was heading east on the Dolphin Express Way and notice the Miami skylline from the west was bright and clear. I stop over the Miami River and took my first shot of the 7th Avenue Bridge with a reflection on Miami office buildings in the Miami River then a second zoomed in. I wanted to stay longer but I did not want to pay the $500.00 fine for stopping-parking (non emergency) on the Dolphin Express Way. I drove on over to Watson Island and WOW! What a view. Biscayne Bay was flat and the light reflections from Port of Miami Bridge were breath- taking. I was in Heaven. I parked and walked back up on the bridge. Taking several great shots of the bay with the change of tide wave the only ripple. The reflection from the Port of Miami Bridge and Miami skyline was beautiful. I then went back to the S.W. point of Watson Island and shot several more photos of the MIami Skyline. The full moon was not over Miami yet, so I went over to the Venetian Causeway taking more great shots. I still needed to kill 30 to 45 minutes for the moon to get over Miami, so I went over to Key Biscayne. The Miami skyline was ausome. The anchored sailboat also made a good shot. I didn't go back via the expressway to Watson Island, I went up US 1 also know as Biscayne Blvd. I took some good shots of the lighted buildings then went over to Claughton Island I had no more than got set up and took only 4 shots when security pull up and told me that I was on private property and had to leave. Next I went to Bayfront Park (sitll on Biscand Blvd.) and got some moon over Miami shots with the palm trees and buildings. I wanted to go on the Port of Miami bridge but could not because of security big time. So I went back to Watson Island and got my ausome moon over Miami photos. Timing is everything in photography and I was lucky enough to catch so many different things happening at the same time to get the photos I got. (the elements of weather first, the change of tide all on a full moon). I have taken 12 of my favorite photos of Miami Skylline at Night putting them together in a 2010 calendar that made great Christmas gifts to my friends and family. I would like for you to go to my website (still under construction, 75% done), AlexEmbryPhotos.com, go to Miami, FL, Skylines at Night 2009 gallery and see if you can pick out the 12 photos I used for you calendar. I will have them post on my next blog.
